My Journey So Far

My career journey has been quite the adventure.

I went to college for Visual Effects & Motion Graphics. While in school I had to learn how to create all my own content from scratch. This gave me a wide range of skills and experience. I got to dabble in video, audio, compositing, graphic design, motion graphics, 3D modeling and rigging, character design, and web design.

While I was in college I realized how much I loved working on video game content so I set out for some real life experience. I interned for Nickelodeon’s online division so I could see the production side of game design as well as an internship at a small indie game studio to experience the development side of things.

I fell in love with the development side of things and soon got my first video game job. Even though my specialty was 3D character rigging when I got out of school my 2D experience landed me the role of lead inking artist on Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded. I found I was also able to put my production experience to good use while managing and tracking the animation assets for the project.

Afterwards I did some some odd job graphic design work until I landed a role at a toy company. This job really sparked a fire in me for Illustration and 2D design. This job also gave me the confidence to start developing my own designs, brands, and eventually games.

While toys was fun I did find that I missed the world of video games which led me to Blipd. Getting involved with a small company that was just starting to get its footing provided me with some amazing opportunities to get into level design and game design. I’ve enjoyed game design so much that in 2023 I started a small indie studio, Jolly Quest Games, so I could create some of my own independent titles as well.

My crazy journey has provided me with a wealth of knowledge and a variety of skill sets that make me a dream hire for smaller indie studios. I have been called the rare unicorn that can do anything by multiple employers and I can’t wait to see what magic I create next!
